Cosplay Contest General Info
Following each year’s tradition, at Otaku Fest 2015 you have the possibility to take part in the solo cosplay competition, in the group cosplay competition, or in both. As usual, the solo cosplay competition will take place during the first day of the festival, and will also include the qualifiers for EuroCosplay 2015. The group cosplay competition will be organized in the second day of the event and will also include the qualifiers for the new competition Clara Cow Cosplay Cup whose finals will take place at Animecon in The Netherlands in June.
We’d like to remind you that the regular cosplay competition within Otaku Festival is open also to the foreign cosplayers who want to take part in it. Those who want to participate are welcome to register for the regular cosplay competitions. However, in accordance to the general rules, EuroCosplay and CCCC qualifiers will be available only for the Romanian cosplayers. The competition includes two distinct categories, the solo contest, organized in the first day of the festival, prior to EuroCosplay qualifiers, and the group contest, organized in the second day of the event, prior to the CCCC qualifiers. You can register for any of the two, by filling in the form on the website, but, prior to that, it is important that you carefully read the updated rules of the competition, in order for you to be aware of what is allowed and what is not. There you will find all the detailed information regarding the internal setup of the contest.
Each participant must pay the entrance ticket for one day of the festival in order to take part in the competition(s). The tickets can be purchased at the festival venue.
The MC for both competitions will be the former representative of Otaku Festival 2014 at EuroCosplay, Gabriela Velicu.
The jury of the cosplay competition will be announced in due time on the official website of the event. The detailed description of the judging is available in the contest rules.
Important information regarding the stage!
The cosplay competition will take place in the Aula Magna (theatre hall) of the Romanian-American University. The stage is of medium size, and the access to it is made via the 2 flights of stairs from each end side in front of the stage. Please check the stage sketch below, which includes its approximate measurements, as well as the 2 photos, one with the aula completely illuminated, and the other one only with the stage lights and the neon lamps from below the stage on.
Therefore, we kindly ask the participants in the cosplay contests to make all the necessary adjustments for their skits. At the same time, we are asking those who are preparing very complex skits to provide as much information as possible in the “Short presentation of the skit” in the submission forms for both contests, in order to allow the cosplay volunteer team to assist you as efficiently as possible.
